Workshop on optical music recognition

This workshop is organized by CIRMMT Research Axis 3 (Musical Information Retrieval, Archiving, and Analysis). It will take place on March 27, 2011, from 9:30am-1:00pm in A832 (New Music Building). This workshop is free and open to all. Registration is required.

Description

This workshop is organized in conjunction with the Renaissance Society of America meeting held in Montreal this year (March 24-26), where several papers using optical music recognition (OMR) technology will be presented. In this workshop a brief history, the current state, and the future of OMR technology will be discussed including its impact on music research in general.
