CIRMMT member Robert Normandeau awarded First Prize (mixed music) in the Musica Nova 2013 International Competition of Electroacoustic Music

Normandeau's work, "Baobabs," was awarded First Prize (mixed music) in the Musica Nova 2013 International Competition of Electroacoustic Music (Prague, Czech Republic). A mixed work for 4 voices, 6 percussion, and tape, Baobabs was commissioned by percussion ensemble Sixtrum and premiered during the live@CIRMMT concerts on May 15 and 16, 2013, in the MultiMedia Room of the Schulich School of Music.

Baobabs, along with Le rêve d'Ahmed (S. Provost) and The Body Loop (L. Radford) will be featured on the next DVD of the CIRMMT series (Spring 2014).
