DESCRIPTION
In connection with a concert on April 12 featuring percussionist Philippe Spiesser and Flashback ensemble, presented by Le Vivier as part of their Résonance Croisée series, this workshop will consist of a presentation of the GeKiPe tool that was developed in several research projects at the Haute école de musique de Genève HEM.
"Geste Kinect et Percussion" is a research-creation project that proposes to explore the control of virtual instruments based on the analysis of gestures specific to percussionists.
The GeKiPe gesture capture tool, which combines images and sounds generated and modulated in real time, uses a Kinect 2 camera and gloves equipped with accelerometers and gyroscopes.
During the workshop, the researchers will play excerpts from the show and participants will be able to try out the tool.
*Please note that this workshop will be held primarily in French.
