Workshop on immersive systems at Université de Sherbrooke

This workshop is organized by CIRMMT Research Axis 4 (Multimodal immersive systems). It will take place on March 21st, at the Université de Sherbrooke. A bus will leave the Schulich School of Music of McGill University for Sherbrooke at 8:00am that morning and will return at around 6:00pm. This workshop is free and open to all. Registration is required.

Description

This workshop will focus on immersive systems. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) spatial auditory displays, multichannel reconstitution of multiple sound sources and acoustic ambiance, wave field synthesis, multicamera video processing, reconstitution of vibratory information, multisensory integration.
 
Participants should enter or send a 2- to 3-sentence synopsis of their interests that will be distributed to everyone.

10:00-10:30 - Coffee/tea and introduction

10:30-11:15 - Tour of the GAUS facilities 

11:15-12:00 - Overview of CIRMMT Research Axes and activities

12:00-13:00 - Lunch

13:00-14:00 - Round table on immersive systems and spatial audio.

Participants will send a 2- to 3-sentence synopsis of their interests that we can distribute to everyone and give a short presentation (5 to 10 min.) of their research projects. 

14:00-16:00 - Structured debates on Wave Field Synthesis and 2-3 hot topics emerging from the synopses.

16:15 - Bus leaves Sherbrooke

Participants must be outside the New Music Building at 7:45am in order to take the bus from Montreal to Sherbrooke.
