String Instrument Workshop

This workshop is organized by the student coordinators of CIRMMT RA1 (SMASP axis). It will take place on May 15th, 2008 at McGill University (A832, New Music Building, 527 Sherbrooke St. West).

This workshop is open to all CIRMMT members.  It is the second student research meeting of the Sound Modeling, Acoustics and Signal Processing Axis of CIRMMT.  The workshop will be centred around string instruments.

Description

Whether you are interested in the physical modeling, the study of the verbal descriptors of timbres or the way string instrument performer's brain works, we would like to have you come and share some of your research with the rest of the students of the SMASP axis. Each participant will be asked to present his research in a casual setting (if you have slides ready that's great, if you don't that's fine too).

This meeting is intended as a way to get to know what people are doing on this topic inside CIRMMT.  We might even get ideas for collaborations.

Hoping to see you there,

Bertrand Scherrer and Antoine Lefebvre
Student Coordinators for the SMASP research Axis
