Workshop on computer-assisted composition

This workshop is organized by CIRMMT Research Axis 6 (Expanded musical practice). It will take place on Saturday, April 16, 2011, from 9:00am-5:00pm in A832 (New Music Building). This workshop is free and open to all. Registration is required.

Description

This workshop is concerned with issues and challenges–both technological and artistic–in the field of computer-assisted composition. Participants will present their own artistic work as well as aspects of the various environments in which they work, including OpenMusic, Common Music and PWGL. The workshop will conclude with a round table and group discussion of the current state of the domain with an eye to possible future developments.
