Any CIRMMT members interested in RA2 activities (Music Information Research) are welcome to attend, as are current or prospective student members who'd like to get involved. This meeting will immediately follow the RA2 workshop on the theme of "Societal, creative and research impacts of data-driven approaches to music" with Distinguished Lecturer Emilia Gómez. Attendees of the general meeting are very welcome to attend the workshop as well if they wish.
Agenda
The RA2 co-leaders will provide a brief update on the RA2 budget and upcoming CIRMMT events. The remainder of the meeting will focus on brainstorming related to:
- General research directions and domains we might like to focus on.
- In particular, are there researchers or professionals we might like to invite to become involved in RA2 so as to broaden the scope and range of our activities?
- Collaborations with other axes.
- Involving students more with RA2.
- Possible themes for future workshops involving RA2.
- Ideas for speakers we might like to invite. This could be for CIRMMT distinguished lectures (2027 on), or could be associated with other events.
- Grant application and inter-researcher collaboration ideas.
- Courses that could be opened up to the CIRMMT community (students and otherwise).
- Anything else attendees are interested in discussing.
