A team of our directors, members and staff visited the Université de Sherbrooke this week. The visit was part of an ongoing effort to collaborate and share knowledge between the two institutions.
The CIRMMT team, led by Director Fabrice Marandola, met with researchers from the Université de Sherbrooke's Ecole de Musique and CRASH research center. Together, they discussed current research projects and explored potential areas for future collaboration.
During their visit, the CIRMMT team and our colleagues from UdeS also gave a presentations on their work, which focuses on the intersection of music, technology, and cognition. The presentation covered topics such as computer-based music performance, music perception, and virtual reality environments for musical interaction.
The team has also visited independent arts, research and technology centre Sporobole.
The visit was seen as an important opportunity for these institutions to strengthen their partnership and build on their shared interests in interdisciplinary research. Both CIRMMT, the UdeS and Sporobole are known for their innovative work in music technology, and the collaboration is expected to yield exciting new developments in the field.
Following the visit, both teams expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration and a commitment to continuing to work together in the future. The CIRMMT team thanked their hosts at the Université de Sherbrooke for their warm welcome and expressed their eagerness to explore new avenues for collaboration in the coming months and years.
