Researchers at McGill University and École de Technologie Supérieure launched Musikiosk on July 31st 2015. It is an urban sound social experiment that lets you play DJ and tracks how people react to your musical taste in parc du Portugal, Montreal and is open to the public for the month of August.
CIRMMT receives $11M funding through a grant from Canada Foundation for Innovation's 2015 Innovation Fund
CIRMMT will receive funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation's 2015 Innovation Fund for their project The science of the art of music: “Live Expression “in situ”: Musical and Audiovisual Performance and Reception." The projects funded under the Canada Foundation for Innovation's 2015 Innovation Fund endeavour to position the country as a global research leader, from outer space, to the surgeon's table, to our interconnected day-to-day world. The state-of-the-art infrastructure funded will transform the Canadian research landscape; the work it supports will propel Canadian research towards the leading edge.
Robert Godin to receive one of 16 honorary degrees from McGill at spring Convocation
In an article in the McGill Reporter, Robert Godin and the 15 other honourees from this spring's convocation are listed, with Principal Suzanne Fortier noting "We are honouring 16 individuals with a diverse range of backgrounds, expertise and experience who are united by their exceptional contributions to improving the lives of so many."

CIRMMT student Sven-Amin Lembke has been awarded two McGill convocations prizes that will be awarded on May 27, 2015. He will receive one of two Governor General's Gold Medal awards for the most outstanding McGill graduate receiving a Doctoral degree in 2014-15 in any discipline, as well as The McGill Alumni Association Graduate Award which is given to an outstanding McGill graduate receiving a degree in 2014-15 in any discipline
